Broadcast Vs. Discussion
Most newsletters are broadcast, rather than discussion forums. On broadcast newsletters, you can correspond with the newsletter owner/editor, but not other subscribers. This also means you will receive fewer messages, perhaps as few as one a month.
Concerning Privacy
When you subscribe to one of our customer's newsletters, your e-mail address is known only by the newsletter owner. Neither other subscribers nor the public can learn your e-mail address through your subscription. Our policy is that our newsletter owners shall use only voluntary subscription (opt-in) e-mail broadcasts, and shall never share or sell their subscribers.
Not Receiving a Newsletter?
See below.
If you're having problems receiving a newsletter, here is a list of things to check in priority order.
- Some of the newsletters are published irregularly. Send the list owner a note to verify that she/he is still actively sending their newsletter. Click on the list owner's name in the newsletter listings to conveniently access their address.
- Your address could be cancelled because your email has bounced several times. Check to ensure that you are still subscribed. You can do this through the "Subscribe" link on the newsletter of concern. If you are still subscribed, you will receive a notice to that affect.
- You might be receiving the newsletters, but not seeing them. Check to ensure that you are not inadvertently filtering or trapping newsletter editions with your filters or spam traps.
- Newsletters are broadcasted using precedence "Bulk". Ensure that your email program is not set up to filter all email with "Bulk" precedence. (This is a typical setting with Hotmail accounts.)
- Check with customer service at your ISP to ensure that your ISP is not silently filtering this newsletter in some inappropriate spam prevention scheme. (This is a frequently reported symptom on AOL.)
